Plain language, no legalese
Nu Teacher asks for first names — or whatever a student goes by — so problems read like they belong to your room instead of "Student A." That is the entire purpose. Never enter last names, student ID numbers, or anything from a student record. We don't want them and you shouldn't send them.
Colleagues are a different case. Bro. John, Ms. Sims, a coach, a dean — adult staff aren't student records, and naming them grounds a problem in the actual building. Keep them in roles you'd be glad for them to read.
Describe what a student needs in your own words — "read-aloud," "chunked text," "extra processing time." That's enough for Nu Teacher to build well. Protected documents stay with you, where the relationship and the legal obligation live.
What you enter is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your lesson, and stored in Nu Teacher's database so your library and the in-app chat work. Your lesson documents are created in Google Drive under Nu Teacher's account and shared with you by link.
Anthropic does not train models on data sent through their API.
Lessons you generate belong to you, not to your school — the same way a document you write in Google Classroom is yours. If your school buys licenses, they're buying access for their teachers, not ownership of what those teachers create.
If your school holds a license, an administrator can see how many lessons you've created and when you were last active. They cannot see your lesson content, your chats, what you marked as "needs reteach," or anything you wrote about your students.
Counts, never content. If that ever changes, you'll be told before it does, not after.
